Terms: £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience, full-time, flexible working (remote / UK-based)
Job description: BeZero Carbon is looking for a carbon modeller to work in our Natural Capital team. The role will focus on developing models of carbon stocks and flows across terrestrial, coastal and marine environments, using the latest peer-reviewed evidence, open source and procured data. These models will be used to support our work in developing carbon credit projects for a range of global clients, based on recognised carbon storage and removals methodologies. We anticipate this role expanding into natural capital modelling in a broader sense as we seek to develop markets for Nature-based Solutions.
As an ideal candidate you will have a background/education in mathematical modelling with experience in ecological and/or climate science. You will have strong analytical skills and be experienced in handling and presenting data in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
You will report to BeZero’s Chief Science Officer and can either work remotely on a pre-agreed timezone, or from our London-based office on GMT hours. For more information visit www.bezerocarbon.com.
Skills and experience required:
The 2020s is the decade of climate action. BeZero Carbon helps organisations adapt to & prosper in a low carbon future. We offer a systematic approach to change through three pillars; smart decarbonisation, offsetting 2.0 and natural capital.
BeZero’s Natural Capital team bridges capital & conservation to embed ecological outcomes into everyday decision-making. Our work supports the principles of ecological economics: that the global financial economy exists within, not outside, the global ecology.
Your onboarding induction will welcome and introduce you to BeZero, detailing our working practices, systems, ethos and vision for the future. We are an innovative startup offering candidates the opportunity to engage with the development and growth of the business.
